here's a report written by Nick Williams more reports with results like this can be found here
" Sixteen anglers managed to set their alarm clocks correctly for British summer time and make it to Whitesprings for the second round of the Fish4Wales Spring League 2008 on the Old Canal Lake. We were blessed with glorious sunshine to welcome in spring but the fish for many of the anglers did not wish to oblige, unless of course you drew an end peg. Adam Mitchell drew one of these sporting a new Shimano Aspire Pro pole which he christened today with a fine match winning performance and winning weight of 40lb 9oz including carp to 6lb. Second was Chris Bradley on Wednesdays match winning peg 3 with 32lb 14oz of small stockie carp to 8oz, not to be outdone Adam's brother Gary Mitchell was 3rd from another end peg 19 with 31lb 13oz of carp to 5lb, with club championship leader John Charlesworth taking 4th place with 26lb 9oz of pole caught carp. Next peg to John Gordon Furlong had 17lb, and likewise peg 5 saw Chris Grant with 14lb were the only other anglers to have a good day, the middle section of the lake was a different story with everyone struggling for bites and scratching for fish. Nick Williams won his section with an all roach bag of 7lb 8oz and keep himself in the running for the spring league but with John Charlesworths 4th place overall he opens up a four point gap at the top of the championship.

A better day today for both weather and bites, than last sunday when no fish wanted to play. Nick and Keith caught well all day on pellet fished to the islands on pegs 2 and 3, and for most of the match they were fish for fish.
Until the last 30mins when Keith's bites dried up on 4mm pellet. Nick had switched to 6mm pellet and continued to catch right up to the whistle finishing on 152 small carp for 67lb 1oz.
A good 1st place ahead of Keith, with 56lb 14oz for 2nd. Ieuan Davies taking 3rd place with 30lb 9oz.
NINE ANGLERS TOOK PART AND ALL WEIGHED IN, FULL RESULTS AND PEG NUMBERS CAN BE FOUND ON THE FORUM SITE.
